Inspiration for product derived from human-led, natural form
Form Development

Using Plastillina I formed a mid-fidelity clay model that I later used as the basis for my wooden form. While forming I would constantly hold and reflect on the shape, ensuring user experience and interaction would manifest through the product’s design.

I sliced clay model into 20 horizontal sections which were then used as a template to assemble a rough wooden structure from 20 thin individual pieces. I then began the process of machine and hand-sanding to further develop and define this unique product.

Final Product
An incredibly dynamic and intuitive form designed and created through a strict linear process. Inspired by human-led dynamism, I refined a malleable clay form into a beautiful and comfortable wooden object that naturally leads its user towards a comfortable and familiar user experience.
